Markus co-founded Startupbootcamp FinTech in London, now the largest innovation program for FinTech companies and the financial industry with offices in London, Singapore, New York, Mexico and Mumbai, and supported by 25 financial institutions. He led investments in over 20 FinTech startups worldwide and sits on the board of multiple companies in Europe and Asia.
In his position of expanding Startupbootcamp to Asia, he played an instrumental role in building up FinTech ecosystems across the region and driving policy change, he is now rated as one of the key FinTech influencers in APAC and voted in Forbes Asia #30under30. Over the last three years Markus has worked with more than 100 early stage companies in Asia to create partnerships with financial institutions. Additionally, he supports the financial industry and regulators in the digital transformation through the use of technology.
Prior to Startupbootcamp FinTech, Markus successfully failed one startup and built up many others. He is an active angel investor and holds a B.Sc in Industrial Engineering / Material Science from RWTH Aachen and a MSc in Technology Entrepreneurship from University College London.
